The small number of inhabitants is joined in the summer by a large number of visitors and tourists who come to enjoy a pleasant stay thanks to the tranquillity characteristic of these excellent beaches. For this reason, in recent years, part of the local economy has been based on the service sector as well as agriculture.
The peaceful summer evenings contain surprises to break the monotony, as indicated by the customs of the locals going out into the streets to have fun in one way or another. One of the most curious events in Daimús is the well-known “Sopars de Carrer“, where in an act of familiarity, each and every one of the typical and beautiful houses of the town, take a table out into the street, in front of their door and fill it with delicacies to celebrate a dinner in the company of neighbours from all over the town. What really defines and characterises Daimús compared to other towns is its tranquillity, which provides quality of life for all visitors, and of course, not forgetting its beach, which is without doubt a must for anyone looking for sun, sea and fine sand without crowds.
As far as the beach is concerned, tourists prefer its tranquillity and family atmosphere. A beach of fine sand and clean water stretches along three kilometres of coastline and acts as a dividing line between the sea and the marshland. In summer, every Friday there is an open-air market on the beach where you can buy anything from handicrafts to clothes and accessories. Visitors can walk along the promenade and take the opportunity to do some shopping.
